The Universe is Trying to Tell Me Something
It’s now the first day of February. Where has the time gone? Anyways…not much happened in January other than being unable to go to the gym due to my running into a glass table with a broken off corner, resulting in a 2.5 inch gash on my left shin that required ten stitches. And yes, it hurt!
Good thing my sister Dulce was there when it happened and took me to the ER. The worst part wasn’t the actual gashing, but when the doctor had to inject me in order to numb the area for stitching. He actually stuck the needle into the wound…like more than 10 times! I was gritting my teeth and trying not to cry. After my leg was finally numb, I told Dulce to talk to me and distract me, otherwise I would pass out from thinking about what the doctor was doing to my leg.
This is why I did not go into the medical field. Absolutely no tolerance for blood and for that matter, no tolerance for pain. After being stitched up, Dulce saw some Snoopy band-aids and suggested I get some for my stitches. Yeah, like I need Snoopy band-aids to reinforce the fact that I’m a big baby who still hates needles!
Because of where the laceration was, I had to walk around with a cane for about a week and a half as my leg was sore. I think the universe was once again trying to tell me that I needed to slow down a bit. Everytime I need to do this, it seems the only way I get the message is if I’m hurt physically in a way that makes me literally slow down. One of these days, I’ll learn.
Next week, I’m taking Dalila’s family photos. She’s the one whose wedding I’m photographing this month. She’s a great person with lots of energy and I’m looking forward to taking her photos.
